Global news agencies plan Test boycott | Aus Vs SL 1st Test 2007/08

The global news agencies Reuters, Associated Press and Agence France-Presse will not report on the first Test between Australia and Sri Lanka if a dispute over media accreditation is not resolved by Thursday. News Ltd, which publishes many of the major papers in Australia, was also involved in negotiations late today (Australian time) with Cricket Australia (CA) over the use of photographic and internet rights during the international season. CA has tightened its regulations with the emergence of new media and its spokesman Peter Young said the organisation believed money made from commercial interests should be shared with the game. Fairfax, which publishes the Sydney Morning Herald and the Age, and Australian Associated Press, the national news agency, have reached an agreement with CA.
